~ NAMASTE ~ | No comments:

I WAKE UP TO THIS.
It has been almost 2 months since I packed my bags and left the bitter cold in London for my adventure and new start in Sunny Israel, and I couldn't be happier. We are almost in December and yet I find myself strolling by the sea in 25 degree heat with a girl who in no time has become like a sister. Life is bliss. However, leaving your home at the tender age of 22 without any of your family and friends wasn't always going to be easy, it is inevitable to encounter a few hiccups along the way. This week I have felt homesick, and at times sad. Not because I want to go home, but because sometimes when things go wrong or when you are alone for too long you yearn for the warm embrace of those you love most and that is understandable. On Tuesday, I found myself in floods of tears after already feeling super-sensitive and a domino-effect of things going wrong. I genuinely lay in my bed reading the beautiful cards and letters given to me by my best friends, cuddling my teddy bear and sobbing, all I wanted to do was see them! How old am I? No but seriously, I still cuddle my teddy-bear at night, I am not prepared to stop now and I am not ashamed to say it.

I don't know about you but I'm feeling 22!!!

The thing is, this is all part of growing up, I have many international friends from near and far, we all travel and move on to new and exciting stages in our lives, but we all remain close and whilst it may be a while till we next see each other, our friendship will never change. I am surrounded constantly by interesting, intelligent, driven and inspiring friends who are forever breaking new boundaries, like me. Here in Israel I am so lucky to live with a group of girls who, already are like family, and when one of us is down, the other will pull you straight back up, that's what friends are for right?

Today Sally, my roomie from New Jersey is the one feeling homesick, I mean it is thanksgiving and when you are so used to spending Thanksgiving every year with your family, it's tradition and being here breaks tradition. The holiday days can sure prove to be the hardest. Whilst I am a born and bred Brit and regretfully have never celebrated Thanksgiving in my life, we decided to take the day off school...NAUGHTY, get up early, put on our sweats and take a stroll into town. We strolled along the seaside from Ramat Aviv down to the port of Tel Aviv, stopping for squats, lunges and some obligatory yoga poses, given that the backdrop was TOO ADORABLE. Sally as you can see is far more advanced than me, 6 or 7 yoga classes and being a dancer for 16 years meant that my dancer hands crept in rather that the straight fingered pose aimed to allow all energy to flow through the body. Throwback to when I was a cheerleader LOL

My ATTEMPT...not quite there yet :P

The gorgeous Sally and I walked for 3-4 hours, stopping for coffee and to browse the colourful Israeli market full of local produce and inspiration for my next recipe creation. I honestly wake up pinching myself, I wake up every morning and no day is ever the same, I feel inspired by everything and everyone around me, it's powerful. I feel so blessed to be able to spend my days so beautifully like today, it really was a wonderful day and I haven't even gone out dancing yet, the best is yet to come...

Date Night | No comments:

Oh the joys of being hideously single in the lead up to Valentine's Day... I joke (slash literally dying inside). With my darling doll Darcey heading back to UNAAAAY tomorrow we decided to have one of our classic date nights...ours are pretty great I am not going to lie; usually because they are swarming with delicious and sometimes devilish food which we honestly inhale at every opportunity. That moment when we realised we had demolished 3 whole cheeses between us...no we can't have...might as well have eaten a cow.

The Rules of Date Night:
1) Your House? You Cook
2) Not Your House? Bring 2 bottles of Vino Rouge or Prosecco (1 each OBV)...make it 3
3) You are not allowed to complain about general calorie intake or make any negative comments towards the food... it will be offended
4) There MUST be chocolate
5) NO BOYS ALLOWED

Move over Nigella Lawson.. whilst we honestly think we are Michelin star chef's, last night's meal was scrumptious beyond belief. I was in charge of making my flavour fusion salad which I currently cannot get enough of (recipe below), whilst Darcey prepared her classic garlic chicken. NOM NOM NOM.

In addition to our homemade meal, made with love, we had carrots and pepper dipped in homous and Tabasco (favourite snack ALERT). For all you Nandos lovers out there, the sauce they put in their homous...Tabasco is a better alternative. We then had a cheeseboard for Desert with Brie, Port Salut and Camembert, grapes and crackers. We are crackers. We washed it all down with 3 and a half bottles of Vino Rouge... #dryjan

Bea's Flavour Fusion Salad
(literally makes your taste buds go cray)

Ingredients:
- Handful of Flat leaf Parsley
- Handful of Basil
- Sweet Red Jalapeno Peppers (You can find these in Waitrose in a jar by fajitas)
- Rocket leaves
- Spinach leaves
- 2 Tomato's
- 1/4 Cucumber
- 5 rashers of Streaky Bacon
- Shavings of Parmesan
- Basil Oil
- Salt 'n' Pepper

Make it happen:
1) Break up the basil and parsley in your hand and throw in a bowl along with the rocket and the spinach
2) Slice the tomato's into segments and slice the cucumber 4 ways into triangles and throw them in
3) Fry the bacon - no oil needed - until VERY crispy - place on kitchen towel to soak up excess fat and break into pieces and throw it in the bowl
4) Drizzle with basil oil (this is delicious with salads) and toss the salad
5) Finally, garnish with Jalapenos to add spice, sprinkle with the glitter which is Parmesan and season with salt and pepper!

VOILA!
Prepare for an explosion of flavour and texture in a matter of minutes.
Loves it!

YAAAAAWWWNNN. Kisses from Princess {x}

Life that Sparkles | No comments:

As you all know I don't blog too often, and have been blogging for a few years now as a hobby because of my love for writing and fashion amongst some other of my interests such as my charity work and my day to day adventures and travels. My new year's resolution is to blog much more frequently as opposed to sporadic posts! The thing is I have about 20 drafted posts in my drafts section, which just sit there unread. Bizarre I know! Why don't I just post them? Here is one...late, VERY LATE I know but I thought to kick off the new year why not reflect and ...why not post it!

***

Remember, remember the 5th of November... The night where people from around the world gather excitably shivering in their boots, clutching onto hot chocolates and swinging sparklers around whimsically in the air, gazing as fireworks rocket into the air concluding with a ginormous bang followed by shimmering sparkles and dazzling lights; I was unfortunately stuck at the hospital. SAY WHAAAAT? Nothing exciting, other than the fact I am having 5 teeth extracted...oh cute. I was sat awaiting my consultation with my surgeon, in regards to my wisdom teeth removal, an evening full of monotone x-rays and back and forth discussions. Not what you want to be doing on Bonfire Night.

HOWEVER...

My work colleague, friend and fellow eccentric, Helen, decided to throw a 'Fright Fire with Fajitas' night. To my amusement this was a mixture of a belated Halloween and fireworks night with well....fajitas. Ahhmazing. So...I sort of lost the memo in regards to costume...in fact being an absolute div I thought it was 'fight fire', yes it doesn't really make sense, but to be honest Helen doesn't always make sense so in reality I was like AH HELEN! So I went as....myself. Honestly though AREN'T I DARING?

....with the addition of my Miley buns...of course

Malificent & Aurora
My fave is the weird one in the middle... he is weird... I like weird

Aside to shotting apple sours, devouring fajita after fajita and picking at some devilishly delicious nachos, we all sashayed into the garden for some exciting fireworks and sparklers. I dare to say we had 'lift off'... the first firework went no higher than to clear the roof of the house and didn't actually do anything other than shoot off the ground. In fact it would be kind to say it went higher than the roof of the shed...as we all giggled at the hilarity the biggest anti-climax EVER, we then went on to set off the eagerly anticipated Catherine wheel. Ermm....about that...after nailing it to the fence using someones rather useless shoe, a pathetic excuse for a hammer, we all waited in anticipation. Helen was concerned about the close proximity of her newly planted shrubbery, except there really was no need due to it turning 2, maybe 3 times...stopping, starting, stopping, slowing....STOPPED! WORST CATHERINE WHEEL EVER. In hindsight, I genuinely think we enjoyed these fireworks far more than lets say an actual sky dazzler. As Charlie Chaplin once said: "A day without laughter, is a day wasted" and OH how we laughed!

Twenty One | No comments:

The big 2-1. I am now officially an adult yet somehow, I can't help feeling that I still don't have to behave like one. Every birthday I like to reflect on the year that I've had and I can't help but feel so fortunate and grateful for everything and everyone's support this year! The year of being 20...to me turning 20 was like OH CRAP okay life is really starting now, no longer a teenager and all that - but in hindsight I have had one of the best years of my life!

This year I have accomplished so much, here are some of my highlights:

- I founded The Sartorial Doll
- I got the job at Rolex HQ
- I ran my first marathon in Jerusalem, Israel for SHALVA (Time: 4Hours 18Minutes)
- I registered to run the 2015 Jerusalem Marathon for SHALVA
- I founded the SHALVA 2015 Mount Kilimanjaro climb taking place October 2015
- Raised over £3000 for SHALVA children's charity
- Interviewed by the Jewish News
- Awarded Style Icona of the Day and featured in their October issue online magazine

My involvement with Shalva Children's charity has been such a special part of my year and will continue to be close to my heart forever. It was so wonderful being able to raise such a great amount of money for such a beautiful cause and I have become a part of something so amazing. When I was in Israel I managed to meet all the children and I put forward the idea of getting a team together to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in aid of Shalva and... it's OFFICIAL. I will be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in October 2015 with my father; as well as friends of Shalva from Israel, New York and Canada....I CAN'T WAIT!

Meet Georgie Ricks, one of my more hilarious friends - If you have a birthday/night out coming up and want complementary tables, alcohol & entry in Chelsea's top nightclubs call Georgie on 07907593956
My friends are too cute, on my actual birthday they arranged a surprise dinner for me and it was perfect. I had already arranged my big party in the next coming weeks, booking out the Penthouse Suite of All Star Lanes in Brick Lane and couldn't think of a better way to spend my birthday! We all indulged in a lovely dinner and then headed to Layla's; a local Lebanese cocktail shisha bar and restaurant where we drank our body-weight in Champagne. We then headed off to Esher's most recent bar/nightclub Bisoux Lounge where we were joined by more friends. I was spoilt rotten from hoards of clothes and shoes to Bvlgari earrings and sentimental gifts from my darling dolls!

My BFF Maria made me this montage of us.  TOTAL LOVE!

My mother bought me this gorgeous leopard print blouse from Zara...TOTAL LOVE! It is so chic and fitted perfectly with my American Apparel, Lamb skin A-line skirt, so obviously I made an outfit change before heading out to continue the parday!  I'm not usually a fan of leopard print, as I feel sometimes it can look tacky and often looks better on blonde's BUT this is an absolute fave. The collar is obviously amazing as it's large and a great shape, perfect for accessorising with my Chanel brooch. The cuffs which you will see in some of my other photos are tight around the wrists making for a perfectly fitted blouse.

My friend Charlie bought me this bouquet of exotic flowers..unique and unusual just like me! Total Love! Thanks Doll

My cake... OH MY GOD MY CAKE. Honestly, it was amazing, I just can't deal. We all know I am so completely obsessed by everything Chanel. I was so happy when this little gem when it was brought to me with sparklers and champagne...can you tell by the look on my face? Thank you so much Mummy! The detailing was incredible and it even trumped my 18th birthday cake, which can I say was also incredible. My 21st birthday cake was a chocolate gateaux made up on 7 layers of choccie cake and buttercream NOM NOM NOM.

My 18th Birthday cake was also pretty amazing! Thank you Mum!

George is my heart and soul - without him life would be dull - Meet my GBF

Mum's lovely BF richard made sure the champagne was constantly flowing....

JET SET: The Sartorial Doll Takes Monaco PART 3 | No comments:

Okay so who would have thought that my 48 hour trip to Monaco would warrant me to write a 3-part blog post...I literally managed to cram in so so much! Take me back...48 hours definitely wasn't enough! Missing you already Jazz! {x}

I am a total city girl and I love all the quirky goings-ons and madness of the concrete jungle that is London. In London, you have everything at your fingertips, and well, it is arguably the biggest fashion capital of the world; competing with New York, Paris and Milan. What isn't there to love apart from the traffic, the people (at times) .....if you hate 'people' you're better off as a country bumpkin because London can be fierce and I love it! Lucky for me, I am one of those weirdos who literally makes friends in the street...I love people and love talking to people so I just can't help myself sometimes!

Aside from my admiration for London, I am besotted with the South of France, in fact I may even prefer it to Italy. With its beautiful landscapes and long winding roads, equipped with hidden bridges and overgrown pathways, smothered by exotic roses and vast amounts of ivy.. there is something so enchanting and romantic about the South of France.

From L-R: Millie, Jazzmin and I

The reason for my trip to Monaco as mentioned in Part 1; was to attend and celebrate in style, my BFFs 21st Birthday Bash and so that is EXACTLY what we did! We drank more champagne than water...literally... and ate an enormous amount of food with 3 courses of deliciousness!

So here's the lowdown y'all:

Where? Zelos Beach, Monaco

Who Went? This was a special day celebrating with just close friends and family

Theme? Boho Chic

Who Wore What?
~ * ~
~ Millie ~
wore this gorgeous chiffon, tie-dye maxi dress which fastened down the front, head to toe with buttons. A perfect choice for Jazzy's Boho Chic Theme

~ Jazzmin ~
wore this vintage style, lace, swing dress accompanied by a pair of glamorous platform wedges. Unfortunately the name of the boutique is unknown as Jazzmin picked up these beauties in St.Tropez!

~ Bea ~
So I don't know if you noticed...but my dress looks like it's from Missoni...but it's not, in fact my dress is from Warehouse.

Designer vs. Highstreet.
Designer 0 - 1 Highstreet. BAM!

This simple little beach dress was perfect for the occasion and I accessorised it with this beautiful flower crown c/o Jazzmin. It just so happens that all the colours match up. Anyone who knows me well...knows it is all about colour co-ordination and it is always in the details.

I wore my Topshop, white 'Spice Girls' wedges and accompanied my look with my Gucci Soho Disco Bag.

What to drink?
Well..Champagne obviously

Dans le Menu?
Starter: Grand Platters of sushi, tomato, mozzarella & avocado salad drizzled with a pesto dressing accompanied by Parma ham and Melon mountains

Main: I opted for the seabass.. I mean if you're in a beach bar you should really have the fresh fish surely? Alternatively there was the Steak which look HUGE but my gosh it was delicious (I obviously had a nibble of mums..)

Dessert: Jazzmin's 21 cake made for her by her wonderful nana! The 2 and the 1 were different cakes and both were ever so delicious!

This is honestly enough to feed 3 if not 4... the biggest steak for 1 I have ever seen and IT WAS DELICIOUS!

Jazzmin's mummy Lisa set up this beautiful area where photos were taken and gifts were placed. This was so beautiful and meaningful with photos of Jazzy from birth to present covering the table and the wall, accompanied by these stunning flowers (which guess what, they're fake? THEY LOOK BLOODY DAMN REAL!!!). Overall the venue was decorated beautifully by Lisa with even the smallest details making their beauty known. Sprinkling the table with real Swarvoski crystals was absolutely fabulous...you girls definitely know how to party in style!

Jazzy was spoilt rotten with a whole variety of amazing gifts!! Millie and I got Jazzy the Tiffany Infinity ring as a sign that we will be the best of friends forever. Ceeerrruuuute.

I love this Chanel, Perfum Bottle iPhone 5 case which Naomi brought back from Shanghai for Jazzy. Total LOVE! Doesn't she look gorgeous! Jazzmin looked every part of beautiful on her special day!

Peace out Bitchessssss

OBVIOUSLY there were real Swarvoski Crystals decorating the tables, so Naomi and I decided to make good use of the crystals.. creative caroline over here...

I absolutely love this flower crown!! Grab yours from Claire's Accessories!

But first....

Meet my mother - ello Sarah

I even got to dip my feet in the ocean and feel the sand inbetween my toes...

ME AND MY DOLLS!! FROM L-R: MILLIE, NAOMI, BEA, JAZZMIN

Yeah that one at the very back...that's me...I went quite a lot further before falling in the deep and V dark water... UH OH

...and then there was PADDLE BOARDING. OK. Guess what! I am terrified of the sea and dark water, sharks and pretty much anything that I can't see below me; however this can be overcome at times depending on the circumstances. E.g. Crystal clear waters are okay and so is scuba diving. Anyways...Millie and I set off, sharing a board, with Millie paddling to begin with...Millie fell in whilst I watched and laughed. Then I got waaaaay too cocky and went out solo.. I went so far, standing up and paddling first, resulting in....well.... I BLOODY FELL IN DIDN'T I. Typical. I was genuinely terrified, at first I just screamed and did doggy-paddle and then I was like 'MOVE'. It was all something to laugh about in the end..

Laughing every day reminds me how beautiful life is..
HAPPY 21ST BIRTHDAY JAZZMIN, I LOVE YOU AND WILL COME FIND YOU SOON!

KISSES,
